Over time the subjects will change, but Nick continues to develop and work his richly painted, formally articulate oeuvre. Greyhounds, sun-drenched beach people, …Seville rooftops, cattle on a volcanic New Zealand pasture, an old loose covered armchair. All have been subject to his searching but sensuous manner, one that allows his viewers to feed the mind while at the same time revel in the colours and brushstrokes. He writes: “I am interested in how everyday life can be turned into painting and the transformations that take place in that process. There are times, like when you are feeling particularly horny or hungry, or when you have just tripped and nearly fallen on an uneven paving slab, when biology takes control and a different and unruly world reveals itself. Something like this can happen in painting, and if I can get to that point and not overcook it, a decent painting may result.’

Nick has a long track record of solo and group exhibitions in London and the South and is widely collected.
